The Essentials: Do’s
- Choose Mild Detergents - Always use a high-quality, pH-neutral dish detergent when cleaning your dishes
- Keep Cutlery Dry Immediately - To help avoid water spots on your cutlery, dry the cutlery with a soft, lint-free cloth immediately after washing
- Do Not Mix Metals - Avoid washing your stainless steel cuttlery with aluminium, sterling silver, or silver plated cuttlery, mixing these different metals will cause the formation of "pitting" due to an electrochemical reaction
- Use Each Item Evenly - Rotate your cutlery pieces within your drawer to ensure all pieces maintain an even finish over time
- Dishwashing Cutlery - When washing cutlery in a dishwasher, place the cutlery into the upper tray only, be sure to separate the pieces adequately to prevent scratching
- Timing of Cutlery Removal - Remove cutlery from the dishwasher before the "hot air" drying cycle starts, as the residual heat and moisture from the drying cycle accelerate the discolouration and spotting of the cutlery surfaces
- Correct Cutlery Storage - Store your cutlery in a dry, clean area such as a lined drawer or cutlery roll
